Hilary Duff will be easy to root for in How I Met Your Father.

Hulu revealed the trailer for the anticipated How I Met Your Mother revival series Thursday (Dec. 16):

The clip begins with Sex and the City  alum Kim Cattrall, playing the future version of Duff's Sophie and narrating the series, setting the stage: "This is the story of how I met your father. It was hard to live in the moment in 2022. There was always someplace else you could be, someone else you could be with."

Just as Bob Saget recounted Ted Mosby's (Josh Radnor) love story as Future Ted in How I Met Your Mother, explaining to his kids how he met their mother, Cattrall is explaining to Sophie's son how she met his father.

From there, present-day Duff laments that she's been on 87 Tinder dates in one year before we're introduced to her friends. The chemistry is already palpable between the ensemble cast Tom Ainsley, Daniel Augustin, Christopher Lowell, Josh Peck, Francia Raisa, Ashley Reyes, Suraj Sharma and Tien Tran.

How I Met Your Father premieres Jan. 18 exclusively on Hulu.

How I Met Your Mother originally aired from 2005-14.
