Loving tributes pour in from Willie Garson's co-stars, friends after his sudden death

Willie Garson amassed 170 acting credits so it's overwhelming to try and explain the presence he had across television after news of his sudden death at 57 years old, but he was perhaps most universally beloved for his role as Stanford Blatch on Sex and the City.

Blatch was Carrie Bradshaw's (Sarah Jessica Parker) best male friend on the seminal HBO series, and Garson was evidently a beloved friend to his co-stars away from the screen as well:

Garson starred across 81 episodes on White Collar, where he made a deep impression on Matt Bomer:

The likes of Ben Stiller, Titus Welliver and Bradley Whitford also sent their love:

Garson was filming HBO Max's Sex and the City revival series And Just Like That..., which is expected to begin streaming sometime this fall. No cause of death has been publicly revealed.

The actor adopted his 20-year-old son, Nathen, from the foster care system in 2009. Given how much Garson gushed over Nathen and his devotion to being a dad, this social media tribute would have undoubtedly meant the most:

"I very much always wanted to have a child," Garson told Page Six last October. "I had a long relationship, off and on, for like 20 years and she never wanted to have a child, which is fine. And it was like my mid-life crisis, I really wanted a child more than anything else, and I got one. We're partners, my kid and I."
