Ed Sheeran drops 'Overpass Graffiti' music video

Ed Sheeran is currently isolated with a case of COVID-19 and celebrating "= (Equals)" alone," but you wouldn't know it by watching his new music video for "Overpass Graffiti."

The free-spirited visual arrived early Friday morning.

In the nearly five-minute video directed by Jason Koenig, Sheeran stumbles around a gas station before hitchhiking with young and wild strangers. The group drive in a van through beautiful scenery and arrive at a deserted lake to swim, cliff-jump and skinny-dip.

"I will always love you for what it's worth," the four-time Grammy winner sings in the chorus. "We'll never fade like graffiti on the overpass."

As night falls, Sheeran's tattoos glow in the dark while everybody lets loose at an outdoor rave. While Sheeran is having the time of his life, news that he's missing overtakes the newspapers and television broadcasts. He hitches a ride with a motorcycle gang — one member has "Perfect" tattooed on his hand, presumably referencing Sheeran's 2017 No. 1 single.

Sheeran falls off the back of the motorcycle, forcing him to hitchhike again. This time, he catches a ride with a young family for a little while and eventually settles on a tour bus that is going "everywhere." Um, is that a hint?

"Overpass Graffiti" is one of 14 songs on "= (Equals)," the 30-year-old's fourth solo studio album that also released Friday.

"This is my favourite album I’ve made, I’m so proud of it," Sheeran wrote on Instagram. "Thank you to all the wonderful people who worked on it with me. To the fans, I hope you love it as much I do, it’s been a long journey to this point. Have a fantastic weekend xx"
