Fans were shocked to find out that the fifth season of Netflix's Emily in Paris will be missing a main character. That's right, Camille Razat, who played Camille, will not be returning for the new season.
The actress called the journey "incredible," but adds that she has made the decision to step away from the series. "It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories," she writes, adding how the door was left open in case she wants to come back and that the character will "always be a part of Emily In Paris world."
She continued to express, "This character has meant a lot to me, and I feel that her storyline has naturally come to an end. It felt like the right moment to explore new horizons." Those who want to continue following her and her career will be happy to know that she just wrapped Nero for Netflix and The Lost Station Girls for Disney+, and has launched her own production company, TAZAR, which is currently developing its first feature film.
"I leave the show with nothing but love and admiration for the cast, crew, and fans who have supported us along the way. Thank you for the beautiful ride," Razat concluded.
Naturally, her co-stars all showed their support for her choice.
"From day one you’ve been my rider on this show. Your passion for story telling, your dark sense of humour, your unwavering ability to stay true to yourself, when everything’s pushing you in a different direction," Lucien Laviscount, who was just confirmed to be reprising his role as Alfie, commented. "You’re special Camille and I feel absolutely honoured to of been able to dance with you these past seasons. Keep on shining. I’m going to miss laughing with you. I’m cheering you on in everything you do."
Star Lily Collins added, "Love you sister. It’s been a wild ride and an absolute pleasure. You’re a rockstar. So proud of you."
Philippine Leroy Beaulieu and Bruno Gouery both shared they they will miss her with Ashley Park saying, "Love you so much, always proud of you," and Lucas Bravo calling Razat "my sister."
The fifth season is set to premiere later this year and creator Darren Star told TUDUM that it will "continue Emily’s adventures in Rome and Paris!”
Collins, Leroy-Beaulieu, Park, Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Gouery, William Abadie, Laviscount, Thalia Besson, and Eugenio Franceschini will all come back.
