The hype for Jurassic World: Rebirth grows as the summer draws near. This movie is the newest addition to the popular franchise from Universal Pictures. It returns people to a dinosaur-inhabited island, but they’re there for a reason. A brand-new full-length trailer for the upcoming blockbuster has recently roared onto the Internet. It brought some intense, never-before-seen footage, and extended scenes have left viewers awestruck! But what exactly did this sneak peek unveil that has gotten everyone excited?

New Rebirth Trailer Expands Story

By now, everyone knows the story of Jurassic World: Rebirth from past trailers and articles. Various dinosaur species have died after failing to adjust to many of Earth’s ecosystems. The surviving animals live in more suitable habitats, like a tropical island of particular interest. A pharmaceutical corporation decides to put together an expedition to this destination. The mission is to gather DNA from the three largest species living there. Of course, they must also evade the predators, especially the unnatural ones.

Another trailer for Rebirth premiered on YouTube days ago, as announced by a previous teaser. This new peek first unveiled a more detailed flashback regarding the Distortus Rex. Next, it switches to the expedition group talking about the dinosaur population. They also explore the abandoned InGen research facility where genetic experimentation took place. The next scene showcased is an extended look at the Tyrannosaurus Rex river attack.

Our focus returns to the expedition group acquiring DNA samples and traversing the land. The following scene reveals they joined the Delgado family as one group. They tangle with the Distortus Rex and what appear to be winged Velociraptors. The final scene is an expanded showcase of the Mosasaurus attacking the team’s boat.

The Film’s Second Hybrid

This Rebirth trailer featured many new things, the most prominent being the Mutadons. They appear as slightly bulkier Velociraptors with pterosaur wings instead of arms. In the trailer, at least one is attacking the humans at a depot. This action solidifies these winged hybrids as antagonists alongside the notable deformed Tyrannosaurus. But how antagonistic or featured the Mutadons will be is still unknown.

Meet the Newest Dino Sidekick

Another prominent surprise during the newest preview is the small dinosaur amongst the humans. She’s introduced briefly when cowering in the backpack of one of the Delgado kids. According to specific sources, she’s a baby Aquilops named Dolores. This little squeaker is taking the role of the main characters’ animal sidekick. She’s like Bumpy from Netflix’s Camp Cretaceous and Chaos Theory, except she’s still an infant. Her origins are a mystery, but the actual movie should reveal everything.

Final Thoughts

Despite a lack of relatively new information, this Jurassic World: Rebirth trailer is thrilling. The Mutadons and baby Dolores were the most welcomed surprises the preview showcased. But, of course, the extended scenes worked to generate excitement as I watched. Overall, this sneak peek caused my desire to see the movie to grow. I’m particularly excited to see the infamous swimming Tyrannosaurus from the original novel. Rebirth hits theaters everywhere on July 2, so set your calendars like I will.
