Kristen Bell hilariously recounts her first colonoscopy

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have no problem sharing details from their lovely life together, and that included a health report from Bell on Tuesday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

"I got my first elective colonoscopy," the beloved actress giddily shared, adding, "I'm 41. I was like, 'Get in there! Let's see what we got!' The prep was a whole thing that I did not anticipate."

Kimmel interjected to ask if anyone had ever asked Bell's doctor for a colonoscopy before they were required to get one, and she had yet another humorous answer for that.

"I didn't ask, Jimmy. I'm not comparing myself to other patients. I'm looking out for No. 1, and I was like, 'Do you want to get in here?'

"When we went to the doctor's office, I had my eight-year-old in tow, and she was sitting there, and we were getting the paperwork or whatever," Bell continued. "She looks up at my doctor and with this sly look, because you can only see her eyes through her mask, she said, 'Are you the doctor who's going up my mom's butt?' And he was like, 'Yes, yes, I am.' And then he said, 'Anything I should look for when I'm up there?' And she goes, 'The rubber nut,' because we say, 'Up your butt with a rubber nut' a lot in our household if you're missing something."

Also with Kimmel, Bell discussed Shepard's tendency to avoid the doctor and handle all his ailments himself — even when it meant wearing an eyepatch to "help" with worsening eye sight — as well as her new Netflix miniseries "The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window."
