Matthew McConaughey launches YouTube channel: 'Giddy up'

Matthew McConaughey let it all out in his No. 1 New York Times bestselling diary-based memoir Greenlights, and he's giving people even more access to his personal musings with a new YouTube channel.

The announcement could not be any more McConaughey:

"Alright, alright, alright," the Oscar-winning actor said through literal rose-colored glasses. "Yes, the first three words this young man ever said on film. Thank you. Yes, McConaughey here, and I wanna welcome you to my YouTube channel. It's a destination where I'm gonna share who I am, who I'm not, what I believe in, what I don't, what I'm doing, what I'm not doing—along with some approaches to life that I've found useful and constructive along the way."

He continued: "Prescriptions in the art of living that have helped me navigate this rodeo we all live in, and even a bunch of bumper stickers that I have seen, heard, gathered and stolen along the way over my last 51 years here. Hopefully it's gonna all killa, no filla, with some raps and rhymes that can help you get back on time. Put a little reason to your rhyme. Some food for thought with a sip of wine."

The first video posted to the channel was about the fundraiser McConaughey organized with his wife, Camila, through his Just Keep Livin Foundation called We're Texas aimed to benefit Texans still suffering from the effects of last month's record-breaking winter storm:

McConaughey made waves in the news last week by saying a future run for governor of Texas is "a true consideration." Perhaps the YouTube channel is the first step toward opening up a line of communication with his constituents.
