Raven-Symoné on 30-pound weight loss: 'I'm not over here trying to be a little twig'

Raven-Symoné has lived her life publicly since she was four years old and starring on The Cosby Show, and the now-35-year-old actress decided to let fans in on her weight-loss journey as well.

The That's So Raven and Raven's Home star has dropped 30 pounds in just three months.

"I'm not over here trying to be a little twig," she said during a sit-down interview with Good Morning America's Kaylee Hartung. "I'm not trying to be like, 'Oh my god, look at me!'"

She added: "I am low-carb as much as I can be. I do very minimal exercise, and I am a avid faster. I make sure that I have a minimum 14-hour fast between dinner and breakfast."

"This is the formula that works for you," Hartung clarified.

"Only for me," Raven-Symoné agreed. "I don't try to speak for anybody else."

A "Pounds Down" update was originally shared on Instagram in late May:

The video featured her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, whom she married last June.

With Hartung, Raven-Symoné described how this weight loss is different than when she dropped 70 pounds in 2011: "The way people were treating me while I was bigger was emotionally damaging, so when I lost weight—and I remember the moment I went on the red carpet, and in my head, I was cussing everyone out. I'm like, 'Wow, now you want to look at me because I'm skinny? Thanks.'"

Now, she noted, her losing weight is about her body being healthy "and prepared to deal with old age"—not about outward size, as it was in the past.
