Twisters looks like it’s worth the hype.
Audiences were treated to an extended clip from the upcoming disaster movie at movie trade show CineEurope, and it apparently went over well with fans.
With a reported budget of $200m, big things are expected from the legacy sequel to 1996’s Twister starring Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt. It may have cost a lot to make, given Twister only cost 92m, but that figure adjusted for inflation is roughly 204m in 2024.
The expense might have something to do with Twisters being filmed on-location during tornado season in Oklahoma. Hopefully they didn’t cheap out on the damage insurance.
It’s predicted to make $40 million during its opening weekend, as per Media Predict. But it’s not the only movie shown off at CineEurope. The Michael Jackson movie stunned with its new footage.
The film, which stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell, releases July 17 in the UK and July 19 in the US.
