Olivia Munn declines to clarify relationship status with John Mulaney
John Mulaney and Olivia Munn's whirlwind romance has been a wild ride in which the public has chosen to become very invested.
This much is indisputably true: Mulaney, 39, and Munn, 41, are expecting their first child together.
However, rumors have been circulating over the last month that Mulaney and Munn are no longer dating. And that is the part Munn has no interest in clarifying.
"It's definitely not foreign for me to have people speculate incorrectly about things and to have rumors run rampant in one way," she told The Los Angeles Times. "They think they know our relationship so well. When in reality, they don’t. There’s no way anyone could know what any of his relationships were or what our relationship is."
The actress added: "If I try to say anything, I run the risk of being called messy or not telling the truth. The only way to win, for me, is to pull back and to not play the game at all."
Mulaney confirmed Munn's pregnancy while visiting Late Night with Seth Meyers in September, when he detailed the past year of his life that included two stints in rehab to address alcohol and cocaine addiction:
Page Six reported last December that Mulaney had entered a 60-day in-patient rehabilitation facility, and the outlet broke the news in late February that the Emmy-winning standup comedian was "doing well" in outpatient sober care.
Mulaney returned to the stage with a new set called John Mulaney: From Scratch in early May. Around the same time, it was publicly revealed that he was in the process of divorcing his estranged wife, Anna Marie Tendler, and he was first romantically linked to Munn. (Divorce papers were officially filed in July.)
