Now that Fountain of Youth is officially streaming on Apple TV+, the actors have already expressed their interest in doing a sequel. Plus, director Guy Ritchie has some ideas.
Fountain of Youth follows two estranged siblings who partner on a global heist to find the mythological Fountain of Youth. They must use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic adventure that will change their lives … and possibly lead to immortality.
"If people wanted to see more, I would definitely be up for making more," Natalie Portman told Entertainment Weekly. "It was so joyful to make this."
Eiza González expressed, "Why wouldn't I? What a dream to be traveling the world with this amazing cast again. I do think that these types of movies need to be continued to be made for kids, to keep the innocence going, the passion of curiosity. You keep a family legacy. So, I'd jump right in."
The rest of the cast includes John Krasinski, Domhnall Gleeson, Arian Moayed, Laz Alonso, Carmen Ejogo, and Stanley Tucci.
As for other objects that the characters could attempt to find next, Ritchie won't reveal what he's thinking yet. However, he did comment, "It was the most pleasurable film to make. It was one of those films that you don't really want to end. People had such a lovely time doing it that they'd love to go back for another bite. So, we'll have to see how we do. We'd all love to go back."
Krasinski explained to Parade that Ritchie was ultimately the reason he decided to join the film: "Working with him was something I've always wanted to do, and you get to see his process. He's so energetic and so positive. He's got a great calm set. I learned a lot from him, and you just find yourself doing absolutely anything for him."
