Zoey Deutch explains full-circle moment behind starring in Justin Bieber's 'Anyone' video

Zoey Deutch played Justin Bieber's wife in his "Anyone" music video, dropping at midnight on New Year's Day and simultaneously transporting viewers backward to a 1950s boxing love story.

The unexpected role also took Deutch back to her childhood.

"I have no idea how I was asked to be in Bieber's video," the 26-year-old actress explained on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon . "Like, I got an email on a Thursday, and then I said yeah, and then we were filming it that weekend. You know, when I was 11, I married my family I'd marry Justin Bieber, so when I was asked if I wanted to play his wife in a video, I couldn't say no."

Deutch had made a name for herself before "Anyone," though, with roles dating back to a recurring role in Disney's The Suite Life on Deck a decade ago. More recently, the Los Angeles native starred in Netflix romantic comedy Set It Up (2018) as well as Netflix series The Politician (2019-20). She has upcoming roles in drama films The Outfit and Hound.
