Acclaimed Australian limited series starring Jacob Elordi lands at Amazon Prime Video on April 18th

Jacob Elordi's rise to stardom has been swift. He charmed many in the "Kissing Booth" movies and the really rose to fame on "Euphoria," which paved the way for him to be a viable "SNL" host. He's played Elvis, he's playing Frankenstein's monster (some call him Frankenstein) in Guillermo del Toro's take on the classic story, and he's Heathcliff in an adaptation of "Wuthering Heights" schedule for a 2026 release.

Elordi iss Australian by birth, and so it is not surprising that he starred in a prestige TV limited series of Australian origin. It's also not surprising that the show would want him as a star, or that there would be clamoring for distribution rights. Sony did the producing, and the rights were sold to different entities across different countries, but in the United States, you will find the show on Amazon Prime, and you will find it there soon.

Now, some of you may have processed the information "Jacob Elordi is on a show I can watch on Amazon Prime" and you're good to go. You probably aren't even reading this. You're off on some wonderful, Elordi-infused day dream. For those of you who stuck around to, you know, find out the name of the show, what it's about, and all that good stuff, we won't keep you waiting.

"The Narrow Road to the Deep North" is an adaptation of a 2013 novel by Australian author Richard Flanagan. It won a Booker Prize in 2014, which is basically the U.K.'s answer to the Pulitzer. So yes, some very prestige-y storytelling going on here. The novel focuses on both an older version and a younger version of a man named Dorrigo Evans, an Australian doctor who finds fame later in life. However, he remains haunted by regret over an affair with his uncle's wife, and also his experiences as a prisoner of war in Asia during World War II. Think "Bridge on the River Kwai."

Elordi is playing the young Evans, with Oscar nominee Ciaran Hinds playing the older version. There's some real acting heft behind this adaptation of "The Narrow Road to the Deep North."

The series will debut on Amazon Prime Video in the United States (and in Canada) on April 18. So yeah, if you don't have plans this weekend, you have the chance to check out Elordi in this limited series, though it would make for a pretty heavy binge, emotionally speaking.
