'80s new wavers 'Til Tuesday reunite for first time in 35 years

Even if you don't know the name 'Til Tuesday, there's a good chance you know the band 'Til Tuesday. You've heard this song, right?

The band were a popular '80s new wave outfit, but 'Til Tuesday had been out of the picture for a while. As in, they had not played together in 35 years. That changed, though, at the Cruel World Festival in Pasadena, California this past weekend.

Aimee Mann has had a successful solo career for many years (and she was in "The Big Lebowski" too!), but she and the rest of 'Til Tuesday hadn't joined forces until now. Obviously, enthusiasm was high. Cruel World Fest is one of those niche festivals dedicated to a certain kind of music fan, and said fan would be hyped to see 'Til Tuesday play "Voices Carry" for the first time in decades. The sort of festival that New Order headlines.

So, was this a one-time, "Let's get some good festival money and enjoy the adoration" event, or will 'Til Tuesday perform more? It seems the band is open to it, as long as people want it. Also, as long as Mann feels up to the task. "If I feel like I can do a really good job singing, then I would consider others," she said, but also noted, "I think that in that first record, the singing is so high and I’m like: I do not understand how that person did it." Of course, "that person" is Mann.

Well, even if this was it for 'Til Tuesday, that's pretty cool, and certainly not cruel.
