James Gunn has responded to Zack Snyder's comments about the new DC Universe.

Whatever a war of words is, this is the opposite - the two directors couldn’t be kinder to each other.

Snyder, who directed DC’s Justice League, originally told CBR his thoughts on Gunn’s DC reboot, saying: “You know, I'm a pretty open book. I really feel like, you know, if the characters are treated with reverence, and mythologically correct, then I'm down. I'm in. Let's see what happens. I'm pretty excited.

When asked if he hoped any characters in particular would flourish, Synder said: “Well, I mean, we're going to get Superman pretty soon, so we'll see what that's like.”

Gunn then shared his thoughts on Synder’s statements via Threads. “Did you see Zack Synder is excited about the DCU?” asked one fan.

Gunn responded, “I didn’t but I knew it already because he’s texted me. He’s been incredibly supportive throughout this process.”

Despite Gunn’s DC universe starting afresh from the one Synder helped developed, the two have nothing but kind words for each other.

It obviously wouldn’t make sense for either figure to burn their bridge, however. Gunn is now co-CEO of DC Studios, while Synder is one of the biggest directors working today (despite the Rebel Moon- Part 2: The Scargiver review roundup revealing his latest effort isn’t really hitting big critically).
