Rick Neuheisel Reveals His National Championship Prediction
USA TODAY Sports

CBS Sports analyst Rick Neuheisel discussed the full slate of the College Football Playoff 12-team bracket, revealing his national title prediction.

Neuheisel shared his picks alongside Aaron Taylor, Brian Jones and Randy Cross.

The former UCLA football head coach believes the national title will come down a matchup between the No. 1 Oregon Ducks and No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs.

While he believes the Bulldogs will fare well in the first and second rounds, Neuheisel thinks the Ducks will finish the season undefeated.

He believes the Ducks will defeat the Bulldogs in the national title game and win their first championship in program history.

"It's going to be the Oregon Ducks,"  Neuheisel said . "Phil Knight and company rejoice."

The Ducks currently have a first-round bye, awaiting a matchup between No. 8 Ohio State and No. 9 Tennessee. If Oregon defeats one of those powerhouse programs in the second round, they will take on the winner of Arizona State versus the winner of Texas-Clemson.

Oregon finished the season with a 13-0 record. The No. 1 team in the Big Ten is fresh off a conference title victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions.

They capped off the year with three ranked wins, defeating No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Penn State and No. 20 Illinois.

The Ducks are led by Heisman Trophy finalist Dillon Gabriel. The veteran quarterback has produced 28 touchdowns and 3,558 yards with a 73.2 completion percentage.

Oregon's second-round game of the College Football Playoff is scheduled for Jan. 1 at 5 p.m. ET.
