Calgary Stampeders Rework QB Jake Maier Contract

As the Calgary Stampeders prepare for free agency, the team is looking to save money wherever they can. The team turned to quarterback Jake Maier for assistance. Both sides agreed this week on a reworked contract for the 2024 season. The deal includes Maier receiving a $150,000 signing bonus and his base salary dropping by $55,000. Here is a full breakdown of the hard money he is owed from the team: · $150,000 signing bonus · $156,200 base salary · $13,800 for housing · $10,000 appearance · $5,000 workout bonus · $4,000 travel allowance · $339,000 total amount Incentives are also included in the contract that would give Maier $2,000 per game in which he plays over 51 percent of the offensive snaps. He could receive $1,000 if he's an All-Star and $3,000 for winning CFL's Most Outstanding Player.
