When a player can score the game-winning touchdown in the championship game, it is safe to assume that player will be back the next season. The Montreal Alouettes made sure they followed suit with that. Canadian wide receiver Tyson Philpot re-signed with the team on a two-year contract extension that will keep him in Montreal through the 2025 season, the team announced Wednesday. Philpot played three seasons with the Calgary Dinos from 2018 through 2021, recording 96 receptions for 1,953 yards and eight touchdowns in 22 games. He earned the Peter Gorman Trophy in 2018 for being the best rookie in U Sports. The Dinos also won a Vanier Cup in 2019 while Philpot was on the team. He was named First Team All-Canadian in 2021 to close out his collegiate career. Montreal selected Philpot in the first round of the 2022 CFL Draft. He caught 39 passes for 459 yards and two touchdowns in 18 games. He also returned 12 kickoffs for 342 yards and earned the Frank M. Gibson Trophy for the most outstanding rookie in the Eas
