The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Texas Longhorns 2-0 in a shutout on Tuesday night, officially knocking Texas out of the 2026 Men’s College World Series. This victory was Georgia’s second win over Texas in Omaha, reinforcing their dominance and prompting loud chants of “just like football” from Bulldogs fans.

After a 4-3 loss to Oklahoma on Monday, Georgia faced elimination and a rematch with Texas. Tuesday’s game echoed their tournament opener on June 13, where Georgia beat Texas decisively, 7-1.

These consecutive wins added to Georgia’s recent athletic victories over Texas. Fans highlight the fact that Georgia has beaten Texas three times on the gridiron in the last two seasons. Since Texas joined the SEC, Georgia has quickly become a significant obstacle for the Longhorns across various high-stakes sports.

It’s going to be a long offseason in Austin.
