Things got a little spicy between the Tennessee Vols and the Vanderbilt Commodores on Sunday evening in Knoxville.

Vanderbilt won the rubber game of a three-game series against Tennessee on Sunday, which led to a heated post-game altercation between the two programs.

Vanderbilt head coach Tim Corbin was asked about the altercation while speaking with reporters after the game.

"I don't know, I didn't even know what happened, really, until I was in the middle of it," said Corbin. "But it was just two emotional teams. That's all. Play hard. Boys will be boys. That's really all it is."

"I talked to Tony throughout the series," added Corbin when asked what he said to Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello after the game. "He was very cordial and I appreciate that. Both teams going at one another and you see that. It's a tough conference."

Vitello, from his viewpoint, thought the altercation was blown out of proportion.

"It's overrated," said Vitello when asked about the post-game scene. "I mean, their guys are looking into our dugout as they high five. But it was a feisty day all along. So are you going to blame them? And then, that's Hunter Ensley's field out there. So I think he was, I don't know who was the first one to say (anything), I don't want to say that. But if you're on their side, you yell, poor loser. And if you're on our side, you yell don't do that on our field, or you're a poor winner. It's blown out of proportion."

That's SEC baseball in a nutshell. Emotions run high and when a team is able to come through on an opponent's home field, you often see that kind of reaction. It's a big part of what makes SEC baseball so much fun to watch.
