LSU alum helps Tigers set CWS Jello Shot Challenge record

LSU's 2023 trip to Omaha is already one for the record books.

Prior to the Tigers huge game against Wake Forest in the College World Series, Baton Rouge local Todd Graves, set a Guinness Book of World Record by purchasing 6,000 jello shots to help push LSU over the edge in Rocco's Pizza in Omaha's "Jello Shot Challenge."

Last year in the inaugural year of the challenge, Ole Miss set the record with 18,777 shots purchased during the CWS. With the event set to last until at least June 25, LSU has already eclipsed the mark with 21,435 shots purchased.

ESPN's Peter Burns captured the moment when the tally was updated at Rocco's with a sea of LSU fans celebrating in a truly wild scene.

While fans were pregaming, LSU was getting ready for a huge game against Wake Forest. Both teams won their opening game of the CWS. Wake Forest came back to beat Stanford, 3-2, while LSU defeated Tennessee 6-3.

The Tigers and Demon Deacons are the only two teams that reached No. 1 in the college baseball rankings this season but when it comes to off-the-field festivities, Tigers' fans stand alone. Perhaps by the end of the week, the LSU baseball team will join them.
