'There’s not going to be any shenanigans' - Tennessee's Tony Vitello credits Arkansas' Dave Van Horn for classy move against Vols

Entering the weekend series against Arkansas, the Tennessee Vols were unsure who the Razorbacks' starting pitcher would be in game two.

It was a bit of surprise, at least for fans, when Razorbacks RHP Aiden Jimenez, an Oregon State transfer, took the mound for the top of the first inning on Friday night.

That's because it was Jimenez's first start of the season.

Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello and his players, however, weren't surprised at all.

Vitello told reporters on Friday night after the Vols' 8-6 loss to the Razorbacks that Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn told him "right away" that Jimenez would be starting in game two.

“No, they told us right away," said Vitello when asked if he was surprised to see Jimenez starting. "Coach [Dave] Van Horn respects the game. There’s not going to be any shenanigans or anything like that. We knew (Jimenez was starting game two) as soon as the game was over, so there wasn’t even really time to think about it.”

That may not seem like a big deal, but Van Horn giving Tennessee that information allowed the Vols to have some extra time to prepare for Jimenez (which is important for hitters).

Jimenez ended up getting hit hard by the Vols as a result, giving up seven hits and four earned runs in just 2.1 innings.

Tennessee will look to take the series on Saturday in what will be the Vols' seventh rubber game in their last seven SEC series.
