The Vanderbilt Commodores didn't have any issues with the Tennessee Vols in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament.

Vanderbilt knocked Tennessee out of the tournament via a 10-0 win in seven innings on Saturday in Hoover (the tournament is single elimination, unlike previous seasons).

Tennessee struggled over the last month of the season, but the Vols looked like they were finding their groove after wins against Alabama and Texas earlier this week in the SEC Tournament.

Saturday's loss to the Commodores may seem like a setback for the Vols, but Vanderbilt head coach Tim Corbin still believes Tennessee is an College World Series caliber team.

"The one we played today, I feel like they’re an Omaha team from a pitching standpoint and a hitting team, as well," said Corbin. "They had to come through the back end of this tournament, which is very difficult to do. It’s a lot of games, it's a lot of baseball."

Tennessee should be in position to host a regional thanks to their wins against Alabama and Texas in the SEC Tournament.

Vols head coach Tony Vitello made his case after the loss to Vandy for Tennessee to host a regional.

"We’re not in control of it, so we’ll let those people that are fully qualified sit in the room and diagnose that," said Vitello. "But I think the fact we came here and got two wins and racked up RPI, I’d assume Texas and Vanderbilt are 1 and 2 or 3 or 4 in RPI and Alabama was a swing host team, we were able to beat them. Florida was a swing host team. We were fortunate enough to beat them in the regular season and outlasted them here."

Regional hosts will be announced on Monday (May 26) at 12:00 PM ET on ESPN 2.
