The Tennessee Vols took care of business in Knoxville this weekend, sweeping a key series from the LSU Tigers.

Tennessee, which is now on a six game winning streak, outscored LSU 17-8 in the three-game series.

The Vols are now 30-6 on the season and 10-5 in conference play. Tennessee has lost just one series this season (they dropped two of three against Alabama in Tuscaloosa).

Despite the Vols' strong week (UT also beat Alabama A&M 20-2 last week), the program didn't move up in D1 Baseball's latest top 25 rankings. Instead, Tennessee stayed put at No. 4.

College baseball rankings aren't quite as volatile as college football rankings -- losses in college baseball aren't nearly as detrimental as a loss in college football. So it's not a massive deal that Tennessee didn't move up in the rankings.

What's odd, though, is that Kentucky moved all the way from No. 8 to No. 3 in D1 Baseball's Top 25 rankings after going 3-1 last week. Kentucky swept a road series against Auburn this past weekend, but they dropped a game to Samford earlier in the week, too.

It's a bit perplexing that Kentucky, which is 30-5, moved past the Vols in the rankings.

Tennessee and Kentucky, by the way, will play a huge series in Lexington this weekend. If the Vols can win that series, they should easily pass the Wildcats in next week's rankings.
