Maximus Edwards scored 17 points (career-high-tying five 3s) as Duquesne (9-9, 4-1) beat St. Bonaventure (15-4, 3-3) 75-57 for its ninth win out of its last 12 games.

Cam Crawford (12) and Tre Dinkins III (10) contributed a combined 22 in the win.

Melvin Council Jr. led the Bonnies with 17 points and seven rebounds. Noel Brown (17) and Lajae Jones (11) combined for 28 points.

Overall Duquesne shot 46.7 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from 3. St. Bonaventure was 20-of-53 from the field (37.7 percent) and made three of its 14 3-pointers.

Key First-Half Moment: St. Bonaventure got out to an early 6-0 lead, but it was all Duquesne afterward. The Dukes used a 36-22 run — making eight 3s — to grab its largest lead of the half (14). Maximus Edwards scored 12 points and made four of his six 3-pointers off the bench to lead Duquesne into the intermission with a 38-29 lead.

Key Second-Half Moment: The Bonnies pulled within five early into the second half, but the Dukes continued to shoot well from 3-point range — going 6-of-15.

Deciding Factor: Four players hit two or more 3s for the Dukes, led by Edwards’ five. The George Washington transfer also had 17 of Duquesne’s 40 bench points, 30 more than St. Bonaventure’s reserves had.

The Dukes will continue their homestand on Tuesday as they take on the Dayton Flyers. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
