Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs have been voraciously pursuing top prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, including No. 1 overall prospect Tyran Stokes, five-star point guard Ikenna Alozie, and top five center Sam Funches.
However, Funches was the only 2026 recruit who officially held an offer from the Zags, that is until 6'6 wing Cameron Holmes reported on Instagram that Gonzaga made him an offer on Monday.
Holmes is currently playing at Millennium in Goodyear, AZ, and is ranked No. 23 nationally in the 2026 class by 247Sports. However, he comes in at No. 16 overall in the site's composite rankings - which earns a five-star designation.

Holmes is the younger brother of DaRon Holmes II, who was a second team All-American in 2023-24 with the Dayton Flyers after averaging 20.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game. He was then picked No. 22 overall in the 2024 NBA draft by the Denver Nuggets, but an Achilles injury cost him his entire rookie season.
The younger Holmes is a hot commodity, with offers from Kansas, Arizona, UCLA, Texas, Georgetown, Oklahoma, TCU, and Oregon among others. Oregon is considered the frontrunner right now, with Holmes planning to visit Eugene in September.
The lefty wing has improved dramatically as a shooter which has boosted his stock. He has great positional size and a solid feel for the game, and if his shot creation skills continue to develop he has all the makings of a late riser - the kind of player coach Few loves to target while on the recruiting trail.
Gonzaga's aggressive recruiting in the 2026 class is likely in response to the recent House settlement, which will temporarily challenge high major programs in the SEC and the Big Ten who are going to prioritize allocating funds to football over basketball.
It creates a perfect opportunity for the Zags to take big swings on recruits who might not be seeing big time financial offers from the programs in flux, while Gonzaga can swoop in and promise more money knowing they don't have to spend on football.
