Rick Pitino has formed a college basketball powerhouse with the St. John's Red Storm.
Pitino recently led St. John's to the Big East Tournament title while leading the Red Storm to a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
After an NCAA Tournament appearance, which saw the Red Storm defeat Omaha in the first round and lose to Arkansas in the second round, much of the attention surrounding the St. John's men's basketball program shines brightly on the transfer portal.
It's been mostly successful for Pitino and company in the transfer portal this offseason, but the Red Storm did suffer the loss of a former blue-chipper.
On Wednesday, St. John's transfer Vincent Iwuchukwu committed to Georgetown, per Joe Tipton.

Before playing one season at St. John's, Iwuchukwu competed with the USC Trojans for two seasons.

Iwuchukwu originally committed to USC out of the 2022 high school class. According to 247Sports Composite, Iwuchukwu was originally ranked as a five-star prospect, listed as the No. 6 center and the No. 25 overall player in the nation.
The former five-star and 7-foot-1 center will stay in the Big East and compete for the Hoyas during his fourth college basketball season, set to make an immediate impact for Ed Cooley and the Georgetown staff.
