ACC Power Rankings: Boozer Twins Have Duke Cooking

The ACC has proven to be a wide-open field over the last handful of seasons. But like the last two seasons, it appears the conference is going to run through the State of North Carolina. Both Duke and UNC have positioned themselves nicely in the early going. The Tar Heels are fresh off a massive win against Kansas, while the Blue Devils have showcased some real power from their star freshmen. As for the rest of the ACC, early on it seems to be a wide-open league.

Without delay, let’s see how the ACC power rankings stand following the opening week of the 2025-26 season.

ACC Power Rankings: Boozer Twins Have Duke Cooking

1. Duke (2-0)

It’s no surprise that the Blue Devils are at the top of the ACC power rankings after the opening week. After taking care of Texas on opening night, Duke came home to blow out Western Carolina, 95-54. Cameron and Cayden Boozer showed out in their Cameron Indoor Debut. Cameron backed up his 15-point, 13-rebound performance from the opener with 25 points against WCU. Duke heads to the Army, and a home clash with Indiana State, before the following week finally sees the Champions Classic’s return to Madison Square Garden.

2. Louisville (2-0)

The team with a massive ceiling coming into the season has gotten off to an impressive start. The No. 11 Cardinals have scored over 100 points in each of their first two games. Now comes a massive clash with in-state rival Kentucky on Veterans Day. This is exactly the kind of game Louisville needs to try and further stamp its mark in the ACC power rankings.

3. North Carolina (2-0)

The Tar Heels have stated their case with a massive home win against 19th-ranked Kansas. UNC proved to much for the Jayhawks. The only bad thing going on for North Carolina is that senior captain Seth Trimble broke a bone in his arm during a team workout over the weekend. That could hinder the team moving forward. Still, UNC made some noise during the opening week.

4. Syracuse (2-0)

Kiyan Anthony is as good as advertised. He made his first start in the Orange’s win against Delaware State, and certainly made an impression. The son of Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony is ready to get Syracuse back to an elite level.

5. Notre Dame (2-0)

Coach Micah Shrewsberry has his team clicking early. The Irish have more than one player who can go out and score on any given night. Braeden Shrewsberry led the charge for Notre Dame with 19 in their win against Detroit Mercy. This week will showcase what the Irish are made of, with a home contest against Eastern Illinois before they travel to Columbus to face Ohio State.

6. NC State (2-0)

It’s as good a start as Will Wade could have asked for. The Wolfpack means business after blowout wins against NC Central and UAB. UNC Greensboro (11/12) is the only game this week for NC State. Having five players averaging over 10.5 points is a huge boost for this group.

7. Georgia Tech (2-0)

The Yellow Jackets needed overtime to get past Maryland Eastern Shore in the opener. Georgia Tech fans felt a lot more comfortable after taking care of Bryant 74-45 on Friday. Still, this group looks pretty vulnerable early. Good luck in Georgia on Friday; that game will be intense for sure.

8. SMU (2-0)

After handling Tarleton State in their opener, Andy Enfield’s Mustangs had a little trouble with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. That game should have SMU on high alert with Murray State and Butler on the schedule up next.

9. Wake Forest (2-0)

Is this the season the Demon Deacons finally get things right and get back to the Big Dance? They were able to score wins over American and Morehead State to open the season. Now they have a massive clash on Tuesday against a Top-10 ranked Michigan team at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. It’s certainly a chance for Wake to prove themselves.

10. Virginia (2-0)

Plenty of question marks around the Virginia program, especially when it comes to shooting the ball. But their defensive effort certainly looks tough. That is something good to see for a team that appears to be trending up in the ACC power rankings this week.

11. Virginia Tech (2-0)

After taking care of Charleston Southern, Virginia Tech got a huge program win during the Hall of Fame Tip-Off. Neoklis Avdalas‘ 33 points were enough to take down the Providence Friars. That should prove to be a nice win for the team moving forward. Saint Joseph’s won’t be an easy contest up next for the Hokies.

12. Pittsburgh (2-0)

The Panthers have some confidence after back-to-back home wins against Youngstown State and Longwood. Though allowing 59 or more points in both games has to be a little frustrating. Eastern Michigan (11/10) and a visit to West Virginia (11/13) are what await Pitt.

13. California (2-0)

The Golden Bears were able to take down Cal Bakersfield and Wright State to begin the season. Now they pick up the competition with Cal Fullerton in town to begin the week. That will be followed by a road trip to Manhattan, Kansas, to face Kansas State later in the week. Dai Dai Ames and Justin Pippen have been great additions thus far.

14. Clemson (2-0)

A Tigers team that likely takes a step back this season has gotten off to a good start. Wins against New Hampshire and Gardner-Webb have Clemson geared up for a tough trip to Georgetown on the 15th.

15. Stanford (2-0)

It’s as good a start as the Cardinal could have asked for. After a 10-point win against Portland State, Stanford took care of business with a convincing 91-68 win against Montana. Freshman guard Ebuka Okorie had quite a performance with 29 points to lead the charge.

16. Miami (2-0)

Transfers were a priority this offseason for the Hurricanes, and it appears the duo of Tre Donaldson and Malik Reneau is working out nicely so far. The pair combined for 45 points in Miami’s second win of the opening week as they beat Bethune-Cookman 101-61. The second week is going to get a lot tougher with Florida ahead on the schedule.

17. Florida State (2-0)

The Seminoles have had a productive start to the season, scoring over 100 points in both victories against Alcorn State and Alabama State. Up next, things get a whole lot harder as they head for a Veterans Day clash at defending National Champion and rival Florida. It’s a nice 2-0 start for FSU, but Tuesday’s game is going to be tough.

18. Boston College (1-1)

The Eagles were looking to start the 2025-26 campaign on a high note, but they lost a tough road game at Florida Atlantic to kick off the season. Thankfully, BC returned home and took care of business against The Citadel, but it’s a less-than-ideal start for the Eagles. Donald Hand Jr has been shown some promise as the leading scorer, but being at the bottom of the ACC power rankings could last a while.
