The No. 24 Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs 99-67 in Coleman Coliseum on Saturday night. It marked the team’s fourth SEC win in a row and the 14th conference home win for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama head coach Nate Oats won’t have much to complain about as his team held the Bulldogs to just .918 points per possession to earn the season sweep over their Mississippi neighbors.

The Crimson Tide’s effort was at level 10 as they forced 18 turnovers and scored 27-points off them to dominate the game. Additionally Alabama edged State on the glass 48-37 leading to 19-second chance points.

Schematically it was the quintessential performance for an Oats-led team as the Crimson Tide hoisted 48 3-point shots, making 15 to go along with a stellar defensive effort.

It was an incredibly balanced scoring effort from Alabama as four players scored in double-figures. Reigning SEC Player of the Week Mark Sears paced the Tide with 21 points, he chipped in 3 assists and 4 rebounds as well.

Aaron Estrada celebrated his 23rd birthday by scoring 15 points, with 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

Mouhamed Dioubate was all over the floor for Alabama as well scoring 14 points with 9 rebounds while helping the Tide’s front court players contain Mississippi State’s star player Tolu Smith. Smith did lead all scorers with 23 but was just 8-14 from the floor and struggled from the free-throw line making just 7-13.

The Crimson Tide moves to 16-6 with an 8-1 record in the SEC. Alabama stays on top of the league standings and will head down to Neville Arena to take on the Auburn Tigers on Wednesday.

The No. 24 Alabama basketball team plays hosts to Mississippi State on Saturday night as the Crimson Tide attempts to maintain its standing as the top team in the Southeastern Conference.

The Bulldogs make the return trip to Tuscaloosa after losing the home edition of the series between the two programs 82-74 on January 16. Mississippi State has proven to be dangerous in conference action knocking off Tennessee and Auburn but they're coming off a road loss to the Ole Miss Rebels on Tuesday.
