Arizona lands commitment from elite five-star guard Brayden Burries

Guard Brayden Burries is a major recruit in the 2025 cycle, and he was one of the final uncommitted five-star players in the country.

Burries is uncommitted no more, though, as he announced his commitment to head coach Tommy Lloyd and the Arizona Wildcats on Wednesday.

"Arizona was the best fit for me and my family," Burries told ESPN regarding his decision. "Coach Lloyd is a great guy. They have been recruiting me for a while. He allows his players to play both up and down, but they also execute within a structured framework. Everyone is held accountable. Their style of play is smart and aggressive."

That's a detailed report on Arizona's system and why the Wildcats make the most sense for him, but Lloyd and his staff were also after Burries' commitment for quite some time.

That time building a relationship with the top recruit has paid off for Arizona.

"The key factor was the trust with coach Lloyd and the staff," said Burries said on ESPN's "Sportscenter" (h/t 247Sports). "He's been on me for three years now and he lets his guard play. His playing style fits me perfectly."

Speaking of Arizona's program, Lloyd is building a very strong future with his 2025 class. Burries is the second five-star recruit to join the Wildcats alongside five-star power forward Koa Peat.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Burries is the No. 2 combo guard in the 2025 class as well as the No. 11 player nationally.
