TUSCON — Arizona basketball continues to cement itself as one of the nation’s elite programs, coming in at No. 7 in total wins this decade, according to College Basketball Report.

The Wildcats have totaled 129 victories in the 2020s, a mark that puts them ahead of powerhouse programs like Alabama and Kansas and just behind reigning national champion UConn. The accomplishment highlights the consistency and national relevance Arizona has maintained in both its men’s and women’s basketball programs over the past several seasons.

On the men’s side, head coach Tommy Lloyd has quickly revitalized the program since taking over in 2021. Lloyd has led Arizona to multiple 28-plus win seasons, a Pac-12 regular season championship, and NCAA Tournament runs including a Sweet 16 appearance earlier this year. Lloyd’s impact has kept the Wildcats at the forefront of the national conversation.

Meanwhile, the Arizona women’s program is entering a new chapter under head coach Beck Burke, who arrivers in Tucson with a strong resume of program-building success. The team looks to return to a level of national contention under Burke’s leadership.

With a win total the places the Wildcats’ basketball program among the most successful basketball schools of the decade, they are poised to carry their tradition of excellence into a new era.
