John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks coaching staff received big news Monday evening. The 2025-26 Razorbacks got a major boost with the latest update on one of their most-watched returners.

Karter Knox has officially withdrawn his name from the upcoming NBA Draft and will return to Fayetteville for his sophomore season with the Razorbacks.

Joe Tipton of On3 Sports shared the news Monday night, giving Arkansas fans even more reason to be excited about the upcoming season:

"NEWS: Arkansas’ Karter Knox is withdrawing from the NBA Draft process and will return to Fayetteville for his sophomore season, source told @On3sports," Tipton posted.

Knox was a five-star recruit and top-30 prospect when he came out of Tampa Catholic. The 6-foot-7 small forward initially committed to Kentucky, but followed Calipari to Arkansas when the coach took over the Razorbacks program.

In his first season at Arkansas, Knox appeared in 36 games and averaged 24 minutes per contest. He posted 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. His final game of the 2024–25 season may have been his most impressive, he tallied 20 points and 6 rebounds while playing 36 minutes in an 85-83 overtime loss to Texas Tech in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.

His highest-scoring game came earlier in the season on November 25, when he dropped 21 points in a dominant 109–35 win over Maryland Eastern Shore.

Arkansas has made the NCAA Tournament in four of the past five seasons. During that stretch, the Razorbacks have reached the Elite Eight twice and the Sweet 16 twice.

Knox will join Billy Richmond, DJ Wagner, Trevon Brazile and Jaden Karuletwa as key returners. Calipari also added 6-foot-11 big man Malique Ewin from Florida State and Nick Pringle from South Carolina via the transfer portal.

Calipari heads into his second season in Fayetteville with 835 career coaching wins. The Razorbacks finished 22–14 last season, marking the fourth straight year a Calipari-coached team has won at least 22 games.
