It used to be that once you went professional you lost your college eligibility, but things have changed in the NIL era. As such, John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks are taking advantage of the international recruiting market.
Karim Rtail is a 6-foot-9, 20-year-old from Lebanon who played professionally in Lithuania this past season in the National Basketball League.
Rtail was looking to come to the states to play college ball and according to Joe Tipton of On3, SMU, Butler and Penn State were all in the running for his commitment alongside Arkansas.
Ultimately, this is an international recruitment that Calipari and the Razorbacks won out on. From Lithuania to Fayetteville is going to be quite the transition, but one imagines the chance to be coached by Calipari was too much for the big man to pass up on.
Lebanese forward Karim Rtail is considering the college route after playing professionally in Lithuania, according to his agent, @DanielPoneman.

Playing for Neptūnas-Akvaservis, Rtail averaged 8.3 points per game in 17.1 minutes per contest.
He's undoubtedly raw, but he's big, and Calipari is the perfect coach to have for someone with professional experience.
