The Auburn Tigers didn't have a great week on the hardwood, going 0-2.

Auburn was riding a ton of momentum into this week but had a couple of challenging basketball games coming up on the road against Alabama and Mississippi State. The Tigers dropped both of these games, losing 79-75 to rival Alabama and 64-58 to the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Tigers came out cold against Alabama, leading to a 14-point halftime deficit, and although they came back and fought in the second half, they lost to a sharp-shooting Tide team. Against Mississippi State, Auburn's offense just didn't look right, leading to only 58 points going up on the scoreboard. Auburn will look to rebound this week with wins over Vanderbilt and Ole Miss, looking for the season sweep of these two teams.

The updated AP Poll came out, and the Auburn Tigers fell from the number eight spot all the way down to 16th after the 0-2 week. This is fair after back-to-back losses despite being on the road.

Coach Bruce Pearl had this to say about playing on the road in a tough environment against Mississippi State, "I think they're competitive, I think they want to win," Pearl said about his team. "We didn't play as well. We didn't make as many shots; we didn't have as good of an assist-to-turnover ratio."

While Auburn didn't have a great week playing away from Neville Arena, this is a really good basketball team that is going to be just fine. Elite teams have bad games/weeks, and Auburn had one this week. Bruce Pearl will figure out the issues, and this team will be fine.
