The past few days have been quite emotional for the Auburn Tigers basketball team. Since the end of the 2024-25 season, the Tigers have seemingly made headlines daily.

The latest news involves Denver Jones, who officially said his final goodbye to the program. He joins Johni Broome and Tahaad Pettiford in declaring for the draft. Pettiford, however, has maintained his NCAA eligibility in case he decides to return.

Coach Pearl has already been hard at work replacing these key players and retooling for a big 2025-26 season. While fans and teammates are certainly sad to see Denver Jones go, what happened after his farewell post is what truly made headlines.

The post that Denver Jones sent out, "Wouldn't trade this for anything in the world. #Auburnman4L"

This post was received well by many, but the most notable was the Auburn Men's Basketball official Instagram responding with "Auburn Legend."

Those are strong words for Jones, especially considering the long and storied history of Auburn basketball. The program has seen its share of legendary names, including Chuck Person, Mike Mitchell, Charles Barkley, Wesley Person, and Eddie Johnson.

This past season with the Auburn Tigers, Jones averaged 10.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.

During his four-year college basketball career, Jones has posted 12.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
