The Auburn Tigers are gearing up for their second Final Four in program history after a season to remember. They played the third-hardest strength of schedule in the country and have gone 16-5 in Quad 1 games. They also earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Every player on the Tigers has played a key role in this year's success, but no one deserves more recognition than forward Johni Broome. The fifth-year senior is averaging 18.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game.
On Tuesday, he won the National American Basketball Coaches (NABC) Pete Newell Big Man of the Year award.
The NABC announced the news on social media, writing, "The driving force behind the Auburn Final Four run! Johni Broome is the NABC Pete Newell Big Man of the Year!"

Broome is in his third season at Auburn after transferring from Morehead State. From being a three-star high school recruit (247 Sports), to now, the 6-foot-10, 240-pounder is arguably the best player in all of college basketball.
After Auburn's season ends, whether that's on Saturday in the Final Four or on Monday night in the national championship, Broome will begin preparing for June's NBA draft.
According to Bleacher Report , he's currently projected to taken 32nd overall by the Boston Celtics.
Broome and his teammates will face the Florida Gators in San Antonio on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:09 p.m. ET on CBS.
