The Bearcats cracked the final five schools for Arizona State transfer big man Shawn Phillips Jr. on Friday. 247Sports's Dushawn London reported his cut list to UC, Kansas, Memphis, Villanova, and Missouri.

The seven-foot, 245-pound talent logged 18 minutes, 5.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game this past season. He holds one more season of eligibility after transferring from LSU to ASU in 2023.

Phillips is a strict paint presence who shot 57.3% from the floor in 2024-25 with no three-point attempts in his career. He is from Dayton, Ohio, with a clear opportunity to play close to home and see heavy minutes this coming season. Philips is a solid defender around the rim, ranking 13th in the Big 12 last season with 1.1 blocks per game.

Cincinnati has Halvine Dzellat and Tyler McKinley in the frontcourt as of this writing.
