Bobby Hurley Makes Opinion of Caleb Love Incredibly Clear After Ejection in Arizona-ASU Game
Zachary BonDurant/USA Today sports

As we get into the month of February, stakes in the sport of college basketball start to ramp up, and that is especially the case in rivalry games between familiar foes.

We saw as much take place between the Arizona State Sun Devils and Arizona Wildcats on Saturday afternoon, with multiple technical fouls, ejections, and an eventual scene after the game where one team refused to shake hands with the other after an 82-71 Arizona win.

At the center of all the drama was ASU head coach Bobby Hurley, who escorted his team off the court after the game, waving off Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd with a wave of the hand. This decision has led to Hurley receiving a lot of backlash for his unsportsmanlike actions.

However, Hurley explained after the game that he was looking to avoid any escalation of already high emotions on the court.

We saw those high emotions result in ASU's BJ Freeman head-butting Arizona's Caleb Love near the end of the game. Both players got ejected after a scuffle.

While Love was the one who received the head-butt, players and coaches on the Arizona State side were obviously upset over his actions throughout the game, and his eventual part to play in the scuffle that led to his ejections.

After the game, Hurley made his opinion of Love incredibly clear when speaking to the media, going so far as to say that he won't be voting for him as an All-Conference player at the end of the year.

"I do have a vote for all-conference, and I can tell you who is not getting a vote," Hurley said.

Of course, Hurley didn't name Love specifically in the sentence, but it's not hard to connect the dots and figure out who he was talking about.

Meanwhile, Lloyd and Love stayed classy in their postgame press conferences on the other side of the building, not going into detail about the postgame events, and keeping the focus on the game.
