After an 11-month delay, Arizona State head coach Bobby Hurley has signed a two-year extension to stay with the team, according to AZCentral.

As a result of moving to the Big 12, the contract extension was delayed. After continuous conversations among fans and the college basketball world about the future of Hurley with ASU, he is now signed with the Sun Devils through 2026.

Hurley just wrapped up his ninth season as the team’s head coach. During those nine seasons, he has led the Sun Devils to a 155-131 record. They have made three NCAA Tournament appearances but have been unable to get past the Round of 64.

Arizona State had a disappointing season after a promising 10-5 start. The team was hurt by Jose Perez’s sudden departure late in the season.

Despite the underachieving season, Hurley made mid-season adjustments that proved to work in his team’s favor.

Arizona State will look to retain as many players as possible while continuing to recruit. Hurley has emphasized that the school will be able to provide more NIL money to players this coming season.
