It’s no secret that this season hasn’t been a good one for USC basketball. The Trojans had high expectations coming into this season, and they haven’t coming close to meeting them. USC is currently 9-15 overall on the season and 3-10 in Pac-12 conference play. Luckily for the Trojans, Oregon State lost on Wednesday night, so as of then, they weren’t in last place. However, that will likely change when they play Utah.

This hasn’t been easy for the USC basketball team, and it especially hasn’t been easy on the players that have been here before and have been successful before. One of those players is Boogie Ellis. Ellis is one of the best players on the team, and he knows that this isn’t Trojan basketball.

“Honestly, I’ve been here for two years – I know what Trojan basketball is,” Boogie Ellis said, according to an article from the Orange County Register. “And we haven’t been playing that brand of basketball this whole year. I’ve been here, I’m a veteran, I know how things go. There’s teams that we’re not supposed to lose to. There’s teams that we can split (games) with. But I feel like splitting with Cal, even splitting with Stanford, that’s not part of what the Trojans do.”

Ellis knows that isn’t how the season was supposed to go for USC. It’s difficult to see, and hopefully the Trojans can find some positives before the season ends.
