Brady Manek impresses in Summer League opener
USA TODAY Sports

On Friday, NBA fans and Atlanta Hawks fans alike learned what North Carolina supporters have known for a long time: Brady Manek can shoot.

The former North Carolina standout starred off the bench in Atlanta's Summer League opener, scoring a team-high 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Manek connected on five of his 10 three-point attempts and pulled down two rebounds.

He turned in a personal 9-0 run in the fourth quarter and recorded four consecutive made threes in the final frame.

Ultimately, the Hawks would drop the 80-76 contest with the Kings, but Manek impressed in his 19 minutes of action.

No other Atlanta player converted more than four shot opportunities and Manek's five three-pointers tied a Summer League high.

With the dominant outing from beyond the arc, Manek looks to increase his minutes and potentially find a home with the Hawks.

Atlanta will return to action on Sunday when they take on the Denver Nuggets.

Denver dropped their first contest to Milwaukee, 92-85, on Friday.

Will Manek continue his hot shooting and find his way onto an NBA roster?
