Brady Manek to play in Turkish Basketball Super League
USA TODAY Sports

Just weeks after finishing up his first professional season with the Perth Wildcats of Australia's National Basketball League, former Tar Heel Brady Manek has found his new home.

Manek will spend the rest of the 2023 season with Tofas of the Turkish Basketball Super League. They currently rank ninth out of the league's 16 teams with an overall record of 7-11.

Prior to agreeing to a deal with the club, Manek played 28 games in the NBL, averaging 12.8 points and 5.3 rebounds, while shooting 45.4 percent from the field and 40.6 percent from three.

Manek led the Wildcats roster in three-point percentage and connected on 80 percent of his attempts from the free-throw line.

Perth ended the regular season at 15-13 overall and finished in fifth place after falling to Cairns Taipans, 91-78, in a play-in game on Feb. 12.

The Harrah, Oklahoma native spent one season in Chapel Hill, appearing in all 39 games and helping North Carolina reach the National Championship Game.

He tallied 15.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, shooting a team-high 40.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Manek connected on 98 three-point attempts, ranking second in a single season in UNC history.

Although it is unclear when he will report and be ready for Tofas, they return to action on March 3rd.
