The USC Trojans are attracting the brother of a recent NBA first rounder. That 2026 prospect and top 20 recruit has spoken glowingly about USC.
Cameron Holmes is close to putting an end to his college basketball recruiting process. He's the younger brother of Denver Nuggets forward DaRon Holmes, who landed at No. 22 overall in the 2024 draft out of Dayton.
The small forward Holmes has piled a litany of scholarship offers. He told Travis Branham of 247Sports that a lot of schools have reached out.
"Texas, USC, Arizona, North Carolina, Oregon, there's been a bunch," Holmes revealed. "They have all been texting me, all been reaching out to me, and checking in on me. They think I have a big future and a lot of potential."
Oregon is the only school he's scheduled a visit for, which takes place on Sept. 20. However, Holmes revealed what he likes about USC.
"Our relationship is going very well," Holmes said. "We have gotten to know each other a little bit better, a little bit more, these past two months. It's a great coaching staff. Him [head coach Eric Musselman] and his son [assistant coach Michael], I love what they're doing at USC."
Holmes would emerge as a prominent west regional prospect for USC if he chooses the Trojans. He stars for Goodyear High in Millennium, Az.
The 6-foot-5 Holmes ranks as a five-star by 247Sports composite. He's the state of Arizona's No. 2 ranked prospect. He also ranks in the top five among the best small forwards in the nation. Director of basketball scouting for 247Sports Adam Finkelstein liked what he saw from Holmes in his evaluation.
"Holmes is a well-built lefty wing who has continued to develop his skill-set," Finkelstein began. "He was showing clear signs of shooting progression over the summer, and that has continued into the season, as he’s a threat to make threes, pull-ups, and even an occasional tough shot, with a much more fluid release than we saw when he was younger. He has good positional size, strength, and length on the wing."
Holmes plans to ride out the recruiting process until late into his senior season, Branham said.
