Four-star wing Dean Rueckert officially announced his commitment to BYU on Monday night. Another top-tier talent staying home to play for Kevin Young and his NBA-ready staff.

The 6-foot-8, 180-pound standout from Timpview High School in Provo, Utah is noted as the No. 68 overall recruit in the 2026 class. Rueckert took an official visit to BYU last week and was reportedly down to two schools. He has emerged as one of the most dynamic wings in the 2026 class.

Rueckert is known for his smooth shooting stroke and offensive versatility. His breakout performance came last season against Tyran Stokes and his star-studded Notre Dame (CA) team. He dropped 31 points on 6-of-9 shooting from three.

Adam Finkelstein from 247Sports praised Rueckert’s floor spacing, and ability to drive with either hand. With continued physical development and defensive growth, Rueckert has the tools to become a multi-position contributor at the next level.

Rueckert is the first player to commit to BYU's future class. The Cougars will heat up with more interest soon. No word on Rueckert’s mission plans as of now.
