Four-star wing Dean Rueckert has officially set his decision date.

The 6-foot-8, 180-pound standout from Timpview High School in Provo, Utah, will announce his college choice on Monday, August 4 at 9:30 p.m. ET on the CBS Sports YouTube channel.

The No. 68 overall recruit in the 2026 class trimmed his list of finalists in late June and will decide between BYU, Clemson, Stanford, Utah, and Washington. He's coming off an official visit BYU last week.

Rueckert has emerged as one of the most dynamic wings in the 2026 class. He's known for his smooth shooting stroke and offensive versatility. During EYBL play, he shot 36% from deep on nearly seven attempts per game and an elite 47% on unguarded catch-and-shoot threes. His gravity as a shooter is well-respected, and he's also capable of scoring off the dribble and using crafty shot fakes to get into the lane.

Rueckert's breakout performance came last season against Tyran Stokes and his star-studded Notre Dame (CA) team. Rueckert dropped 31 points on 6-of-9 shooting from three while showcasing strong defensive instincts—looking like the best player on the court despite the loaded competition.

Adam Finkelstein from 247Sports praised Rueckert’s floor spacing, and ability to drive with either hand. With continued physical development and defensive growth, Rueckert has the tools to become a multi-position contributor at the next level.

With his decision coming soon, Cougars fans will be watching closely as Rueckert announces where he’ll take his talents next. For BYU, Kevin Young has the opportunity to land another top-tier recruit and keep his recruiting streak going.
