The Celtics have signed free agent guard Caleb Grill to a training camp contract, per Paul Garcia of The Spot Up Shot (Twitter link). Grill’s deal figures to include Exhibit 10 language so he can earn a bonus for playing for Boston’s G League affiliate in Maine.

Grill, who played a pair of exhibition games in China last month while representing the G League United, went undrafted in 2025 out of Missouri and signed an Exhibit 10 deal with Chicago last fall prior to being waived before 2025/26 began.

The 6’3″ guard, who also played for Iowa State and UNLV before finishing out his college career with Missouri, had a productive season in 2024/25 for the Tigers, winning the SEC’s Sixth Man of the Year award after posting 13.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 26.2 minutes per contest, with an excellent shooting line of .472/.396/.864.

Grill spent last season in the G League with the Windy City Bulls and Greensboro Swarm, Charlotte’s affiliate team. In 41 total contests, 33 of which came with Windy City, he averaged 9.9 PPG, 3.1 RPG and 1.1 SPG in 22.5 MPG, with a shooting line of .431/.387/.857.

The 26-year-old could earn a bonus worth up to $91K if he’s waived by Boston and spends at least 60 days with the Maine Celtics. Exhibit 10 deals can also be converted into two-way contracts, and the Celtics have one two-way opening.
