On Monday morning, Auburn Tigers standout guard Chad Baker-Mazara made major headlines with his decision on where he will choose to play basketball next season.
Baker-Mazara was one of the most impactful players on the Auburn roster, averaging 12.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game in his senior year.
After an 18 point performance in the Final Four against Florida, the guard announced he will be entering the transfer portal on April 17.
Baker-Mazara announced on social media that he has made his decision, and will be heading to the Big 10 to join the USC Trojans for next season.
The Trojans now have their experienced leader and look the part to be a great team this year.
The addition of Baker-Mazara is going to be a big boost to the USC team that has a recruiting class in the top 10, according to On3.
The Trojans have one five-star in Alijah Arenas, who they hope can make a full recovery after an unfortunate car accident, and one four-star recruit in Jerry Easter.
These two incoming freshman will join a transfer portal group of eight transfers, with seven of them being four-star transfers. The Trojans went full rebuild and have done an incredible job thus far.
Auburn now will look for their impact player somewhere else, and have a good class coming in. They have three four-star guards that can replicate his role, including a transfer from Texas Tech in Kevin Overton who is looking for a bigger role heading into his junior year.
Best of luck to Baker-Mazara on his new journey in college basketball that lands him in southern California.
