Clemson's David Collins suspended one game for hard foul on Duke's Wendell Moore Jr.

The Duke Blue Devils defeated the Clemson Tigers 82-64 Thursday night in an ACC men's college basketball clash, but the final score wasn't what most people came away talking about.

Late in the first half with the visiting Blue Devils up 27-20, Duke junior forward Wendell Moore Jr. stripped Clemson guard David Collins of the ball and appeared on his way to an uncontested, breakaway dunk. Instead, Collins sprinted back on the defensive end, which led to this:

On Friday afternoon, the ACC announced Collins' punishment for the hard foul.

In his first season with the Tigers after transferring from South Florida, Collins has posted 10.5 points, 2.3 assists and a team-high 1.8 steals per game, as well as a career-high (and team-high) 6.7 rebounds and career-best 51.7% field goal percentage and 44.1% three-point field goal percentage in 24 contests. Clemson is currently 12-12 overall and 4-9 in conference play.

Moore is in his third season with the Blue Devils and currently averaging career-highs in points (13.7), rebounds (5.6), assists (4.5), steals (1.4) and minutes per game (33.7), while shooting a career-best 51.9% from the field and 39.2% from distance as well. Duke is 20-4 (10-3), in first place in the ACC and is currently the No. 7 team in the country.
