Cooper Flagg's GPA at Duke Surfaces Before NCAA Tournament

With just one game remaining in the college basketball regular season for the No. 2 seed Duke Blue Devils, the anticipation is palpable for both the ACC and NCAA Tournaments, which will ramp up starting next week and continue throughout the rest of the month—and potentially into April—for a Duke team with serious national title aspirations.

A big reason for their success this season has been freshman sensation and projected No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft, Cooper Flagg. While Flagg has hinted at potentially returning to Duke, it remains highly unlikely at this point for a player viewed as a generational talent.

However, despite likely being one-and-done in college, Flagg has remained extremely impressive both on the court and in the classroom during his time with the Blue Devils.

The Newport, Maine native has maintained an impressive 4.0 GPA during his time at Duke, which he finished his fall semester with. He shares the highest GPA on the entire Blue Devils roster alongside fellow freshman star Khaman Maluach.

Since Duke's post highlighting his successes on Jan. 11, Flagg has continued to lead the team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, field goal percentage, and minutes played, while also serving as the defensive catalyst.

This season, with their final game coming on Saturday against their rival, the North Carolina Tar Heels, Flagg is averaging 19.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks, while shooting 49.7% from the field, 38.2% from the 3-point line, and 82.8% from the free-throw line.

He is currently a finalist for the Julius Erving Award, given to the best power forward in college basketball, and is the heavy favorite to receive the Wooden Award, given to the National Player of the Year. If he can maintain his GPA throughout the rest of the school year, he could also be in line for academic awards.
