Dan Hurley, UConn Receive Big Transfer Portal News on Saturday

Following a disappointing second-round loss to the eventual-champion Florida Gators, Dan Hurley and the UConn Huskies have started to build their roster for the 2025-26 college basketball season.

Connecticut will lose a few key players following the season, including freshman forward Liam McNeeley, who has declared for the NBA draft. But Hurley has a solid recruiting class coming in, securing the ninth-best class of 2025 (247 Sports).

However, Hurley wasn't done adding to his roster, and on Saturday, he gained a commitment from his third transfer, adding Le Moyne Dolphins forward Dwayne Koroma, per Storrs Central.

"BREAKING: Le Moyne Transfer F Dwayne Koroma has committed to @UConnMBB, sources confirm to @StorrsCentral ⤵️," Storrs Central wrote on X.

Koroma, a 6-foot-8 junior out of Berlin, Germany, started his college basketball career back in 2020-21, playing one season for the Iona Gaels. He was inserted into the starting lineup in 12 of his 18 games, averaging 2.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 15.4 minutes per contest.

Following his lone season at Iona, Koroma took his talents to Salt Lake Community College for two seasons before transferring to UT Arlington for the 2023-24 season. He received less playing time at UTA (14.6 minutes per game) than he did at Iona but improved his scoring to 4.3 points.

In 2024-25, he made his way to Le Moyne (Syracuse, New York) for his junior year and started in 30-of-31 games. He had by far his best college basketball season of his career, tallying 11.5 points on a whopping 71.4% shooting and 7.2 rebounds per game.

Joining Koroma in UConn's 2025 transfer portal class are combo guard Silas Demary Jr. (Georgia) and point guard Malachi Smith (Dayton). With another solid recruiting and transfer portal class, Hurley and the Huskies could find themselves competing for a title once again.
